🤝 Pre-season contracts
Price and volume agreed before the season starts, so farmers can plan with certainty.
Mithila Farms was born in Madhubani, Bihar — the makhana capital of the world — with one simple idea: the farmer who grows your food deserves as much care as the customer who eats it.
In 2019, our founder watched a farmer sell a full day's makhana harvest to a middleman for less than what one retail pack sells for in Delhi. That math never made sense — so we decided to fix it.
We began buying directly from four families. Today we partner with 120+ farming households across six districts of the Mithila belt, paying 20–30% above mandi rates and settling within 48 hours. On your side of the bag, that means makhana that is roasted — never fried — with labels you can actually read aloud.
